Ed Stritch, Owner
Ed grew up and went to school in Dublin, Ireland. During his college years he spent 4 summers in the US……..the last 3 on Cape Cod where he perfected the art of beer drinking and made many lasting friendships.
For a period of 6 years after college he worked, played rugby and travelled to over 30 countries and gained valuable professional experience while working in London and Australia.
In 1979, he returned to the US on a full-time basis and in 1982 he married Sarah Woods (an LSU Alumnus) in Houston. After a combined 10 years working in Houston and Boston they made their way to Chicago where they still live 30 years later.
In 1996, he founded a construction consulting business that now has 5 offices in the US and 1 in Dublin, Ireland. About 15 years ago he met Patrick at a popular Chicago Irish Pub and eventually through his friendship with Patrick he was introduced to Rafer and Sel.
Already a part owner of an Irish Pub in Milwaukee, he jumped at the opportunity to join Patrick, Rafer and Sel in the wine business…… a natural progression from his interest in beer and whisky to wine. Apart from having the honor of our Pinot Noir being named “The Stritch”, it’s been a lot of fun and a great learning experience that has blended in well with his more serious day job.
